Tanyika brings of years of experience in the educational field, having worked for Milwaukee's local college, MATC for over 10 years. She holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Lakeland College and has a strong belief in education paving the path for success. Tanyika has served youth in several local programs for over 22 years. She leads with experience and a true desire to see positive impact in each young male in our facilities, and is honored to ensure each of our residents have a safe, comfortable, and healthy environment to call home.

Johnnie Henderson, the Program Director of Next Chapter Living Center, connects with the vision of Next Chapter through dedicated service and desire to see each resident reach his full potential. He Graduated with a Bachelors in Science from UW Milwaukee. Johnnie, has served as a liaison for our local prison and detention centers for over 15 years, providing inspiration and guidance to inmates. Having seen the result of poor decision making, he understands the powerful impact of having the right programming in place and how it can effect the choices youth make. Johnnie strives to see the best in each of our Residents and provide experiences that will allow them to see a brighter hope for their futures.
Specialist/Caregiver Qualifications (Must meet one of the following):
A Bachelor or associate degree
One year of full-time experience in working with teen boys
Certification as a child and youth care worker
Completion of a traineeship program in which the resident care staff has
worked with qualified, experienced resident care staff for at least the first 80 hours of employment and received orientation training as specified
under s. HFS 57.16 (1)
Duties- assist residents in daily living skills, assure safety, and perform various housekeeping tasks.
Lead Youth Specialist/Caregiver Qualifications (Must meet one of the following):
A Bachelor or associate degree
One year of full-time experience in working with teen boys
Certification as a child and youth care worker
Completion of a traineeship program in which the resident care staff has
worked with qualified, experienced resident care staff for at least the first
80 hours of employment and received orientation training as specified
under s. DCF 57.16 (1)
Duties- all of the duties of a Youth Specialist: assist residents in daily living skills, assure safety, and perform various housekeeping tasks. Additional responsibilities include daily review of vital documents and assisting with various administrative duties.
Administrative Assistant Qualifications (Must meet one of the following):
A Bachelor or associate degree
One year of full-time experience in working with teen boys
Certification as a child and youth care worker
Completion of a traineeship program in which the resident care staff has
worked with qualified, experienced resident care staff for at least the first
80 hours of employment and received orientation training as specified
under s. DCF 57.16 (1)
Duties- assist CEO/Licensee, Executive Director, and Program Director with various administrative tasks and projects.
The "Relief Person" position is an individual that infrequently replaces a caretaker/provider for a brief period.
Duties- perform all duties of Youth Specialist/Caregiver. Shall supervise residents when the
number or resident care staff is not sufficient to meet the staff/resident ratio.
Group Home Manager Qualifications (Must meet one of the following criteria):
A Bachelor or associate degree
One year of full-time experience in working with teen males
Certification as a child and youth care worker
Completion of a traineeship program in which the resident care staff has
worked with qualified, experienced resident care staff for at least the first
80 hours of employment and received orientation training as specified
under s. HFS 57.16 (1)
Duties- they may also function as the program director, if the group home manager meets the program director requirements. In addition, functioning as the Administrative Assistant when one is NOT available (See Administrative Assistant Duties). The group home manager oversees the day to day operations of the facility.
Staff Supervisor (Must meet one of the following):
One year (minimum) of staff team Management
Duties- Oversee the job duties of Youth Specialists, Lead Youth Specialists, and Relief Person staff members. Report to Program and Executive Directors.
At Next Chapter Living Center, we pride ourselves on providing an opportunity to those who have a passion for working with youth and making a positive, lasting, impact in their lives. Our two group home care facilities are conveniently located next door to one another.Hands-on training is provided to new employees upon hire, allowing new hires to gain the necessary skills and knowledge needed to perform their job duties.
As a 24 hour, seven days per weeks, year round facility, we operate within a 3 shift system:
1st Shift: 8:00am-4:00pm
2nd Shift: 4:00pm-12:00am
3rd Shift: 12:00am-8:00am
